Murder Mystery Shows Streaming Online: 11 Episodes

The popularity of Murder mystery shows skyrocketed on both television and in print, especially those that take place in a domestic setting. I enjoy a well-written show with a surprising ending. Because it makes me feel like I’m following a genuine case and become entirely absorbed in the plot.

Best Murder Mysteries

I’ve compiled a list of some of the best streaming Murder mystery shows currently out there. The best murder mysteries shows are as follows:

1. Clickbait

Clickbait

Like an episode of Black Mirror, clickbait is a murder mystery with a social media twist (although not nearly as clever). Their loved one is featured in a distressing video that quickly goes viral. The man’s family begins a frantic hunt for answers. In addition, the negative aspects of social networking are examined in clickbait.

One plot involves a missing father who is later shown in a viral video holding a placard stating that he will commit suicide if the video reaches 5 million views. Even though it takes place in Oakland, California, much of the show was shot in Melbourne. This is one of the best Murder mystery shows.

2. The White Lotus

The White Lotus

Mike White’s The White Lotus is an American dark comedy-drama anthology on HBO. This fictional series focuses on the visitors and staff members of the White Lotus resort chain and how their issues with mental health and interpersonal relationships affect their time at the resort. Both seasons occur in different locations, the first in Hawaii and the second in Sicily.

Since solving murders isn’t the show’s focus, we can’t call it a murder mystery but a satirical comedy. Yet, it alludes to a character’s death in the first few minutes before showing us everything that transpired, with no explanation for who or what perished. This reveal was the high point of the show for me. Therefore, this also can be considered one of the best Murder mystery shows.

3. The Undoing

The Undoing

In The Undoing, a guy is accused of murder, and we are sure he committed the crime, making for a highly compelling murder mystery. Not that we’re counting, right? That was one wild ride of a concert.

The Undoing broke records for both the number of viewers and the size of the U.S. television show that debuted in the United Kingdom, surpassing the previous record holder, Game of Thrones. In 2020, it drew the most viewers of any HBO program. The series was well-received by critics, who praised the acting (especially from Kidman and Grant), cinematography, and production design but had mixed opinions on the script, pacing, and characters. This is a very unique one among the list of Murder mystery shows.

4. Defending Jacob

Defending Jacob

Similar to the plot of The Undoing, Defending Jacob follows the family of a young man who is falsely convicted of murder but maintains his innocence. All signs lead to him; thus, he must have been responsible, right? Maybe not…

Attorney Andy Barber is an assistant at the Newton district court in Massachusetts. He is looking into the stabbing death of 14-year-old Ben Rifkin, a classmate of his son Jacob that was discovered in a park near their school. At first, Andy looks to local pedophile Leonard Patz for answers, but he soon learns that Ben’s pal has been hinting at the tension between Ben and Jacob. This is a very different one from the list of Murder mystery shows. Let us inform you that you can also watch action Bollywood movies

5. Mare of Easttown

Mare of Easttown

Among the shows on this list, this is one of the few that can be called a classic murder mystery. A small-town investigator is under intense pressure from her community and coping with her troubles as she investigates the murder of a little girl. Despite the abundance of suspects, clues, and red herrings, I guarantee you will not expect that finale. Nevertheless, this one from the list of Murder mysteries shows it is worth watching.

6. Only Murders in the Building

Only Murders in the Building

Newest on the list is Only Murders, a slow-moving murder mystery/comedy about three New York City apartment dwellers who investigate a murder in their building while also creating a true crime podcast about it. If the mystery element of a show is more interesting to you than the comedy or drama, you can be frustrated by the show’s slow pace. This one from the list of Murder mysteries shows a must-watch option.

7. In the Dark

Only Murders in the Building

The name “In the Dark” isn’t exactly well-known. Instead, it’s a light-hearted murder mystery about a blind woman investigating the death of a young boy she knew. Murphy, a bold, blind woman, is oblivious to the world around her as she shuffles through life drunkenly. They include her roommate Jess, who is understanding, and Tyson, a juvenile drug dealer who rescued her from a horrific mugging.

With her guide dog Pretzel by her side, she strolls and comes across what appears to be Tyson’s body, but it vanishes before the police can investigate. Murphy’s only solace is the thought of finding out what happened to her friend. But when they show no inclination to look into it, she starts to spiral. It’s far better than other Older movies.

8. The Flight Attendant

The Flight Attendant

The Flight Attendant should be on this list without question. A woman had an exciting one-night affair, only to find her lover dead the following day. Because of this, she becomes determined to find out who killed him and why and to clear her name in the process.

Cassie Bowden, a flight attendant for American Airlines, is a drunken slob who has sexual encounters with passengers and other strangers. She wakes up with a hangover in her Bangkok hotel room to find the body of a fellow passenger from her last flight lying next to her on the floor. His throat has been slit. Instead of calling the police, she cleans up the mess and heads to the airport with the rest of the airline workers. This is a great one out of the older movies.

9. Sharp Objects

Sharp Objects

Sharp Objects, a show from a few years ago, follows a reporter as she returns to her hometown to investigate a murder.

To investigate the killings of two young girls, alcoholic and recently released from a psychiatric hospital. Camille Preaker travels back to her birthplace of, Wind Gap, Missouri. Camille is forced to face her demons when she returns to the house. Where she grew up and found herself under the watchful eye of her mother, Adora, a small-town socialite, is much better than the other Older movies.

10. Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies

The American drama series Big Little Lies was from Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name in 2014. David E. Kelley wrote the show’s 14 episodes, which broadcast on HBO throughout two seasons beginning on the following dates. February 19, 2017, and concluding on July 21, 2019. As a miniseries, the first season was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and the second by Andrea Arnold.

The genre of Big Little Lies is more drama than a murder mystery. But the thought of trying to piece together what happened while you watch it never leaves your mind.

11. How to Get Away with Murder

How to Get Away with Murder

My favorite murder mystery series is How to Get Away with Murder, which I will now watch. A university law professor and her close-knit group of students solve a new murder mystery each season. We are informed early on that a death has occurred, but we are not told who has passed away or who has committed the murder until the season finale. Nothing else quite like it, and it’s a tonne of fun. This is one of the best Old mystery movies.

Final Words

We have seen the best murder mystery shows and Old mystery movies. Learning about our ideals and fears through true crime stories is possible. Morbid curiosity is a typical psychological trait due to the widespread interest in true crime stories. And the commercial success of horror movies and the prevalence of news reports about violence.

Real crime dramas light the ideals and fears shaping our society. Watching true crime dramas like Old mystery movies allows us to indulge our curiosity about the criminal mind. And feed our need to assign motives to their actions.
