Extraordinary

Jen is a cynical young lady whose future seems grim, especially because she is one of the few individuals who hasn’t yet obtained superpowers. Her narrative is told in the unexpectedly entertaining comedy series Extraordinary. The super magical universe that Emma Moran creates has a solid mythology at its core, and her characters have an open world to explore.

Carrie, Jen’s best friend, roommate, and Kash, Carrie’s deadbeat boyfriend, back Jen on her path to nowhere. Extraordinary strengths lie in its interpersonal interactions, imperfect characters, and beautifully realistic inclusive casting, all highlighted by the show’s witty, sweetly filthy humor.

The 1619 Project

Award-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones presents a riveting docuseries with six episodes titled The 1619 Project. The series doesn’t pull any punches as it explores hot-button issues, including slavery’s repercussions on democracy, capitalism, and justice. The 1619 Project is an innovative historical examination aimed at people from all walks of life in the United States.

The 1619 Project discovers a profoundly touching approach to drawing nuanced and purposeful connections through personal experiences, historical events, and contemporary happenings. Accomplished actors such as Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, and Gayle Rankin appear alongside Johnson in Kindred. Kindred is a drama at its foundation, focusing on history, generally, and for this family.
